Tulamben is a small fishing village on Bali's northeast coast, made world-famous by the USAT Liberty shipwreck lying just metres from shore. What makes this site truly special is its accessibility — beginners can explore the shallowest sections at just 5 metres, while advanced divers can venture to the stern at 30 metres.
Beyond the wreck, Tulamben offers exceptional coral gardens, dramatic drop-offs, and some of Bali's best muck diving. The volcanic black sand creates a striking contrast with the colourful marine life, making every dive here a visual feast. Early morning dives often reward you with bumphead parrotfish congregating around the wreck — a truly unforgettable sight.

USAT Liberty Wreck
The crown jewel of Tulamben and one of the world's most famous dive sites. This 120-metre US Army cargo ship, torpedoed in 1942, rests just 30 metres from shore. Encrusted with vibrant corals and sponges, it's home to bumphead parrotfish, barracuda, garden eels, and an astonishing variety of macro life. Accessible to all levels — snorkelers can see parts from the surface.

A gentle slope covered in vibrant hard and soft corals, perfect for beginners and macro enthusiasts. Look for pygmy seahorses, nudibranchs, ribbon eels, and ornate ghost pipefish hiding among the coral formations. Night dives here reveal a completely different world of crustaceans and hunting predators.
